SmEdit is a Small Text Editor designed for a general text manipulation and viewing. It is especially suitable as a replacement for "Notepad", but it's abilities go much further than that. Unlike Notepad, it is capable of handling large files, can view Rich Text Files, and can be used for advanced tasks such as a simple programming editor. All Sinner Computing Software is written using SmEdit!

SmEdit also includes some unique features like an "On-Top" setting, which puts the SmEdit window above all others and keeps it there. This is especially useful for writing notes while reading a document / EMail, or the reverse! (Referring to notes while writing a document / EMail.) SmEdit can also be set to automatically select fonts designed for certain file types and enable/disable WordWrap. Also useful are SmEdits configurable Run and Insert controls. You can program 3 buttons in the toolbar for running different programs or add near unlimited easy access files in the context menu. Similar abilities exist for inserting text. Other features include read-only override for editing system files, external modification notification, partial loading, printing, a customizable tool bar, a status bar with line number display, Unicode support, save and loaded file size display, time insert, goto-line, full search and replace, auto file registering (and restoring) for 12 file types (plus 2 customizable types), a unique descriptive icon for each file type, display font selection, customisable AutoSave, Word-Wrap, URL highlighting, multi level undo and redo, clipboard functions, Drag and Drop loading, default window size setting, tray minimization and a side line select bar. Furthermore, due to being written in Assembly Language SmEdit takes up under 150 Kb of Hard Drive space (including all program files and ReadMe) making it fast loading and suitable for all systems.
