Hair is basically made up of minerals and proteins. Mineral deficiency can lead to split ends, and weak hair roots. Trimming every 3-4 weeks is fair enough to keep those splits away. So, to banish those splits away: Make sure you drink a lot of water as water contains minerals. Pamper your hair with regular oil massages, and make sure you massage the hair ends too. Hair split ends happen when the hair is exposed to extreme temperatures or it does not have enough oil and has a lack of moisturizers and nourishment. Keeping hair healthy should include continuous care to not split it because once broken or split, the only definite cure is a trim.
